Muscat, Oman

Looking out the plane descending into Muscat was not a pretty site. We just spent two weeks in a cool, wet, lush, green environment to touch down into this barren, humid, outrageously hot setting.

They say this is the land of immerse beauty and natural wealth, Oman borders the American Arab Emirates, Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Muscat is known as "Arabia's Jewel". Muscat is a blend of old and new, with modern architecture and infrastructure amidst forts, castles and archeological sites.

There were some amazing sites we saw that day such as the traditional dhows anchored at port. Plus the lively hood of the night when the Omani's break out of the heat for an evening of food and mingling. We live as the Omani's do and have a late dinner on the beach. We even saw local police on horses safeguarding the seafront.
