Pan Jia Yuan Market - China

On our way to the subway, we get some incite of the locals.

People get up early in the morning, set up their shops along the road, and stay there all day long. Elongated hours with no one to relive them at the end of the shift.

Many vendors selling food from push carts. A local favorite was the baked sweet potatoes and roasted chestnuts.

What a way to start the morning with a hot breakfast on the go.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I loved how this captured everyday life.

The boys looking at the fruits of the street shop.

Matt is at the entrance of Pan Jia Yuan flea market. You will see many lion statues in China. Pairs of guardian lions are still common decorative and symbolic elements at the entrances to restaurants, hotels, supermarkets and other structures, with one sitting on each side of the entrance.

On your mark..... Get set.... SHOP!

There are isles and isles of everything from new to whatever the merchant could grab from their home. I was not accuseumed to the agressiveness of merchants. If you looked at something, they started bargining with you whether you wanted the item or not.

Matt is happy with his purchases.
