Emperor Qin's Terracotta Army - Xian, China

Good Morning, Xian (pronounced She-on). We rented a bus, driver and two tour guides for the whole day for about $100 American dollars.

Everyone is happy in the morning!

Several city walls have unique carvings in route.

A dragon carving out of rock.

At the entrance of the emperor's museum. Connor touched the marble ingravings that were ice cold to touch. The girl in the green jacket was our tour guide "Kim". The Chinese give themselves English names when dealing with westerners. I think that was a good idea because I'd never be able to pronounce their birth names.

Wax images portraying the workers.

The first emperor of all China was a fellow named Ying Zheng, born in 260 BC during the "Warring States Period", a chaotic, fierce, and dangerous time in Chinese history. He was a member of the Qin dynasty, and ascended to the throne in 247 BC at the age of twelve and a half. In 221 BC King Zheng united all of what is now China and renamed himself Qin Shihuangdi ("First Emperor of Qin").

On to see the Terracotta Warriors!
