Fin's beach

What a country!!!!! Some of the sights of Oman simply have to be seen to be believed...but we'll do our best to convey some of the magic of this country via the blog...

Another small village on the Muscat Sur highway. The Fin's beach along the coast is by far the most beautiful I’ve seen in Oman.

Just look at the color!

Pitching up camp for the day.

Waves crashing into razor-sharp rocks right next to the sandy beach.

This story is my favorite. While watching the waves erupt through this spout, I walked closer to get a better look. Dozens of crabs leapt into this hole. Then, another wave came crashing in and dozens of crabs spewed from the hole. It was raining crabs! I had a good laugh with this one.

The landscape is enormously varied and nearly always spectacular.

The beach had areas covered with smooth rocks.

The local fishermen

For some reason, the fisherman fish several times a day but don't always keep their catch and leave them on the beach.

Oh, and look what Slugger found.

A fun day of snorkeling, swimming and conch shell finding. I found a conch shell about 10 inches in length and it still had the deteriorating remains of the last owner.

One of the local dhows

We drove through villages that seemed untouched by time.
Driving through Fin's we saw wild goats, donkeys and camels.

A baby....how adorable!
