Pantheon

The Pantheon commissioned by Marcus Agrippa as a temple to all the Gods of Ancient Rome.

Out of all of ancient Rome's great buildings, only the Pantheon remains intact.

Rome was filled with carrozze, horse drawn carriages. You can take a ride around the piazza.

The Pantheon is among the architectural wonders of the world because of its dome and concept of space.
It is said that the basic architectural design was unique for the time.

The dome rests on a solid ring wall supporting this massive structure. This was the largest conglomeration of cement before the 20th century.

The ribbed dome outside is a series of almost weightless brick. Animals were sacrificed and burned in the center and the smoke escaped through the only means of light.

About 125 years ago, Raphael's tomb was discovered here. Vittorio Emanuele, king of Italy and his successor, Umberto, are here as well.

Not only are the tombs guarded but fans still bring flowers to the tombs.
.

It has even been said that Michelangelo studied here even before St. Peter's.

There was a serenity about the place along with the awe of the workmanship, grandeur and beauty.
